Legislative Advocates in Albany
Legal Counsel - NYSSA members have a voice in Albany. We have experienced legal counsel, who represent our legal and legislative interests. Our attorney works closely with the Society's Government, Legal and Economic Affairs Committee to focus attention on issues affecting members and their patients. Counsel and the committee work together to:
Monitor legislative activities that may impact the practice of anesthesiology;
Lobby legislators;
Coordinate NYSSA's annual Legislative Day for NYSSA members to meet with their legislators. In addition, our counsel is available to speak at District Meetings, as well as, to the various Anesthesiology Departments throughout New York State;
Prepares practice management articles;
Serves as legal liaison with The American Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc. (ASA), and The Medical Society of the State of New York, (MSSNY).
