PGA 62 NYSSA/PGA ART EXHIBIT GUIDELINES

The New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc.
62nd PostGraduate Assembly

PGA/62 attendees and their families interested in art are encouraged to submit their work for the NYSSA/PGA Art Exhibit to be held December 12-16, 2008 in conjunction with the 62nd PostGraduate Assembly in Anesthesiology in New York City. Minor children of meeting attendees are invited to participate as junior exhibitors.

Professional judges will present ribbon awards to winners in the following CATEGORIES:

Painting

Sculpture

Photography
Crafts
Junior Exhibitors

REQUIREMENTS
1 - All work must be original (designed and executed by the artist). Work from kits is not acceptable.
2 - $15 fee per entry (to a maximum of $45 for five entries)
$5 fee per entry - junior exhibitors only (to a maximum of $15 for five entries)

Exhibit Hours: Saturday, December 13 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (0700 - 1700)


Sunday, December 14 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (0700 - 1700)


Monday, December 15 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (0700 - 1700)


Tuesday, December 16 7:00 AM - 12:00 Noon (0700 - 1200)
4 - Guard Service will be provided by The New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc. However, the PGA and New York Marriott Marquis assume no responsibility with regard to claims, loss or damage of art entries. It is the responsibility of the artist to insure their entries.
5 - Oil paintings must be framed. Watercolors, drawings and prints must be matted or framed. Photographs must be mounted or framed and suitable for hanging.
6 - All entries that are to be hung must be equipped with proper hanging devices or they will not be shown or judged.
7 - Artists must attach a label to the back of each entry listing the following information:

Name of Artist
Address
Title of Entry
Category
Price (if for sale)
8 - Art exhibits are to be brought to the Harlem Room - 7th Floor, New York Marriott Marquis, on Friday, December 12th no later than 5:00 PM (1700) on that date.
9 - All exhibits must be removed immediately after the official close of the art exhibit on Tuesday, December 16th at 12:00 Noon. Exhibitors are responsible for the repacking and return shipment of their material.
10 - Articles not collected at the end of the exhibition will be packaged and shipped air freight COLLECT by the display contractor and a packing surcharge will be incurred. If you are not available to dismantle your exhibit, it is suggested you request the assistance of a responsible individual. To protect your property, please advise us of the name of this individual.

JUDGING
There will be no separate categories in the Junior Exhibit and a ribbon will be awarded for "Best of Show". All other requirements of the NYSSA Art Exhibit will apply to junior exhibitors.

An entry may be judged in another category if it is considered to be more suitably placed. Categories may be combined if there are too few entries to judge separately.

The Committee on Art Exhibits reserves the right to withhold from exhibition those entries which may be damaged or broken in shipment to such an extent that it would do a disservice to the artists, and to withhold from exhibit any items which would be deemed offensive, dangerous, or otherwise would not conform to the requirements of the NYSSA Art Exhibit.

NYSSA cannot act as an agent for the sale of art pieces nor may such a sale be transacted within the confines of the art exhibit gallery. Sales/Purchases are to be handled directly between the artist and buyer.
