NYSSA MEDIA AWARDS


2000 NYSSA Media Awards

The Society’s MEDIA AWARDS were presented during the annual NYSSA House of Delegates meeting, on Saturday, December 9, 2000. Dr. Constance H. Hill, who chairs the Public Education and Information Committee presented the awards. The recipients of the BROADCAST AWARD were Reporter Lyn Brown and Producer Avril LaCour, of WNYW-TV FOX CHANNEL 5 in New York City, for their televised interview with Dr. Carolyn P. Greenberg of New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Center, on the use of Patient Controlled Analgesia. The PRINT AWARD went to writer Sheila Anne Feeney of The New York Daily News, for her “Smooth Operations” article, dated May 15, 2000, which highlighted anesthesia services at SUNY-Downstate University Hospital in Brooklyn, featuring Dr. James E. Cottrell, Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology.

Ms. Sheila A. Feeney of The New York Daily News who received the 2000 NYSSA Print Media Award is feted at a luncheon in her honor during the December PGA/54 meeting.
