Directions and Parking Information
The New York State Fair is clearly marked along all routes. The Science and Industry Building, where our exhibit is located, is the first building to the left as you enter Gate #2. We are located in the Northwest corner of the building. If you need additional directions, please contact the Fair Grounds at (315) 487-7711 and they will assist you.
If you are coming from Buffalo or Rochester:
-Take 690 East
-Exit at Hiawatha Blvd.
-Make 2 left turns to re-enter Route 690 West.
-Proceed to Exit 6.
-Enter the Orange Parking Lot.
If you are coming from Albany:
-Take 690 West
-Proceed to Exit 6
-Enter the Orange Parking Lot.
If you are coming from NYC or NJ, take Route 17 North (changes to Route 17 West) to Route 81 North to Syracuse and pick up Route 690 West to Exit 6 (see above).
OR
Take the New York Thruway (Route 87 North to Route 90 West) to exit 35 Carrier Circle (Route 298). After paying the toll, stay to the right and go around the circle to pick up Thompson Road South. Take this to Route 690 West and follow directions above.
The parking lot for volunteers is the Orange Parking Lot. It can take 10-15 minutes to park and walk, or take a shuttle bus, to the exhibit booth. Please allow sufficient time to meet your schedule. There is shuttle bus service from the Parking Lot to the Main Gate. Once through the Main Gate, our building, The Science and Industry Building, is to the right.
HOTEL NOTE: If you are staying in a hotel off Carrier Circle (Embassy Suites, Residence Inn, Fairfield, Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, Microtel, etc.) From the Fairgrounds take 690 East to Thompson Road North Exit. Take Thompson Rd. North to the Route 298 East exit. Stay on the right by the Carrier Factory. As you exit, move quickly to the left lane. The very first left, at the light, is Old Collamer Road. The hotels are located on and toward the end of this road.
